Using Google Maps and cross-referencing with several old London street maps, I’ve begun to pinpoint the important events and locations of my ancestors in London on the interactive map page. I’m in the process of working on a map of my ancestors all over the United Kingdom and I hope to eventually end up with a world map, pinpointing my ancestors and relatives all over the world.

I’ve also created several maps which show where my ancestors lived during each census. This is particularly interesting as you can see clear patterns in movement throughout the years and notice clusters of families living close together which then tend to spread out of the city towards the suburbs and Home Counties.

Mapping my ancestors on the census:
1861 census | 1871 census | 1881 census | 1891 census | 1901 census | 1911 census
